The most common mistake foreign nationals make when planning to work in Hong Kong is applying under the wrong scheme. With more than a dozen admission routes administered by the Immigration Department, from the General Employment Policy and Top Talent Pass Scheme to the IANG and the Investment as Entrepreneurs route, picking the right one is not always straightforward. Apply under the wrong route and you risk delays, refusals and the cost of starting again.

Hong Kong Visa Services exists to solve that problem. We assess your profile, identify the correct scheme, build your file and submit your application. For a full overview of your options for working in hong kong, start here.

What the Immigration Department Looks For

Regardless of the route, most applications are assessed against a shared set of criteria:

  • Personal background: no serious offences and no security objections
  • Qualifications or skills appropriate to the scheme you are applying under
  • Employer sponsored routes require a formal signed contract covering role, salary and duration
  • Talent schemes assess academic records, income levels or graduation from a recognised institution
  • Entrepreneur applicants must present a credible business plan, evidence of available capital and proof of active involvement in the business

What We Do

We cover every step of your application. That means identifying your visa route, compiling your document checklist, writing your personal statement, handling all sponsor coordination, submitting your file and following up with immigration officers. Once approved, we guide you through collecting your entry permit and registering your Hong Kong Identity Card.

Rules and document requirements are subject to change. The Immigration Department may request additional materials on a case by case basis.
